i am currently 20 years old, 5'7" and 142lbs.
i was formally trained in karate for about 4 years and reached brown belt rank. i learned forms, basic strikes and some grappling. i started weight training at 16; in college i started pushing the heavy lifts. i was never interested in participating in competitive team sports.
just recently i sustained a back injury. i believe it was a combination of pushing the heavy lifts too often and lying in awkward positions in the car for extended periods with the gf. i decided to slowly reproach the heavy training after a one month break but unfortunately the back pain returned. i have dropped my goals of reaching a 2x bodyweight squat, 2.5x deadlift, and 1.5x power clean at least until my back problem resolves (if it ever does).
i have shifted my attention to bodyweight exercises, generally letting my back pain dictate what i should pursue.
current pursuits:
one-armed chin/pull up
strict one-armed push up
captains of crush 3
rolling thunder hang
rehabilitating my back (if possible)
free handstand
correcting posture and mobility
