the one-armed push up

so this year i'm going to officially add one-arm push ups to my training regiment; not the 'rocky' but the less popular arm-in version. imagine yourself in push up position with arms directly beneath the shoulders and feet placed shoulder-width apart, from there removing one arm from the equation with minimal bending at the hips and elbow tucked towards the body. i can't seem to find the specific name for it so i'll just call it the tucked one-arm push up.

i like the tucked one-arm push up because it offers plenty of resistance and it emphasizes rotational core stability and strength in the triceps and delts. i think the side road i'm going to use is the finger assist method, reducing the assistance as i improve.

my ideal tucked one-arm push up would be somewhat like the arm-in variation shown in the following link but with no lateral bend at the hips (if possible, as i haven't gotten there yet).
